TITLE:  Adult Education / GED Instructor, Part-Time (STF2801)

This position is located in McPherson.

APPLICATION

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions -

  • Conduct classes for students who are in need of basic instruction of math, grammar, writing and basic computer skills.
  • Work with program coordinator in implementing curriculum and documenting student progress.  This will include evaluation of materials and teaching methods.
  • Submit appropriate paper work to program coordinator for quarterly reports and to meet deadlines timely.
  • Attend staff development activities as assigned.
  • Arrive on time for work and successfully perform the responsibilities of the position.
  • Comply with HutchCC policies, and procedures.

Secondary -

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Adult Education Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, with a preferred education background including education and/or social sciences.
  • Teaching experience is strongly preferred.
  • Physical requirements include but are not limited to excellent communication skills, basic reading skills, basic writing skills and basic math skills; Manual dexterity to operate office equipment; see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; use appropriate judgment and apply tact and courtesy in difficult situations; understand words and respond effectively and appropriately; Visual acuity to view a computer terminal; Light/Indoor work environment -
  • Mental requirements include the ability to learn and comprehend basic instructions about the position.

HOURLY RATE OF PAY, HOURS and STATUS:

The hourly pay rate is $14.00.  The position is contingent on state and federal funding.  This part-time support staff position is not eligible for additional benefits (due to the part-time status); this position is non-exempt.

Hours:  Monday - Wednesday 5:00 - 9:00 -  This times could be negotiable.
