APPLICATION

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions-

  • Provide personal counseling and crisis intervention for college students attending classes based in Fort Riley. Days per week and hours worked may vary. However, the primary work hours will be late afternoon/early evening.
  • Administer and interpret various assessments including, but not limited to, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the Strong Interest Inventory (SII).
  • Implement retention procedures including a variety of intervention activities.
  • Provide information about the college and its programs to potential students.
  • Arrive timely for work, attend work regularly, and successfully complete the responsibilities of the position.
  • Comply with HutchCC policies, procedures, and practices.

Secondary –

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Outreach Coordinator - Fort Riley with input from the Coordinator of Advising, Career Development, and Counseling Services.

QUALIFICATONS:

  • Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, Professional Counseling, or related area.
  • Kansas licensure to diagnose and treat mental disorders preferred.
  • Counseling experience required.
  • The ability to work professionally with staff, students, administration, and others.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to sit in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time; the ability to perform hand motions for keyboarding, operating office equipment, answering telephones, and other office equipment; Excellent verbal, written and listening skills; Must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer, and to operate additional office equipment; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; to use appropriate judgment and to apply tact and courtesy in difficult situations; The ability to understand words and respond effectively and appropriately; Attentive to detail, accurately follow written and verbal instructions, work independently, Sedentary/Indoor work environment with a substantial amount of keyboarding required –

HOURLY WAGE and STATUS:

The hourly rate of pay is commensurate with experience and educational attainment as determined by HutchCC administration. This position will work 5 to 10 hours per week, at the HutchCC site at Fort Riley. This is an hourly, non- exempt position and is not benefit eligible (may be KPERS eligible depending on exact number of hours worked). Days per week and hours worked may vary. However, the primary work hours will be late afternoon/early evening.
