Motorcycle Safety Education

The purpose of the Motorcycle Safety program at Hutchinson Community College is to provide a service to the community.
The Kansas State Department of Education and the college provide this service to Hutchinson and the surrounding areas.


This program features the following benefits:

  • Classes for beginning and experienced riders
  • Classroom and range instruction
  • May qualify for Insurance Discount
  • Motorcycle driver's license completion
  • United States Armed Forces Approved
  • Safety clothing required: long pants, long sleeve shirt, gloves with fingers,boots or shoes above the ankle, eye protection (eye glasses or sunglasses)
  • Motorcycle Safety Foundation approved curriculum
  • Motorcycles and Helmets are provided (you may bring your own approved helmet)
  • Classes conveniently offered over a one-weekend format
  • Classes begin Friday evening at 5:45pm and end at 10:00pm. 8 hours of instruction on Saturday and Sunday, for a minimum of 20 hours instruction.
  • Lunch provided on Saturday and Sunday
